So, by now you probably know one of the biggest ongoing developments in the Smokies has been the announcement that we will getting a branch of celebrity musician Blake Shelton’s “‘Ole Red” restaurant and music venue hybrid right in downtown Gatlinburg. That’s no longer news, but what IS news is that we now have a completion date to expect – March 2019!
If Gatlinburg having ‘Ole Red as part of its already amazing culinary palate is news to you, here’s what you’ve missed:
“Whether Ole Red is at the top of your country music bucket list or you just wandered in itchin’ for a little fun in the heart of Gatlinburg, we’re glad you made it.
Country fans already know this place gets its name from superstar Blake Shelton’s breakout hit, “Ol’ Red.” Being here is a lot like hanging out with the guy himself: laid-back and genuine, up for anything, a bit irreverent (but always fun)—and set to great music. Ole Red has a little something for everyone in the heart of the Smokies!
We cordially invite you to settle in with a Blake-approved cocktail, order a plate of Redneck Nachos, or try the super-stacked Ober Gatlin-Burger. And you feel like sharing, snap a selfie with our famous Champagne of Fried Chicken, brined in Miller High Life, fried to perfection, and served in a champagne bucket. You can’t go wrong here; every one of our made-from-scratch menu items and special desserts is a crowd pleaser.”
The announcement for ‘Ole Red came one year prior on March 21st, 2018, to much excitement. The restaurant and venue is located in downtown Gatlinburg very quickly as you get into town from Pigeon Forge. The old Riverbend Mall complex has been converted to the new restaurant and there will be parking opportunities nearby.
Also from the Ole Red website:
“With a planned opening in March 2019, Ole Red Gatlinburg will be a $9 million, multi-level, 16,000-square-foot entertainment venue with a two-story bar and restaurant, retail area, performance space, dance floor, and exterior terrace. Its chef-driven, Shelton-inspired menu will feature a few Nashville classics like Hot Chicken & Waffles as well as BBQ, burgers, and additional Southern favorites.”
